Sketch 1: As we grow up, it's like we're constantly collecting new and shiny things, but we inevitably lose a lot of things that were already more valuable

Sketch 2: I can't tell you what it feels like, as if something explodes from your chest like a firework at some point, and you find your lost self in the ashes of the ground.

The material I used for these two images was watercolour. The first time I tried laying the colours directly over the background as it would make the painting very quick, but it would also cover the colours of the other objects and make it impossible to distinguish them clearly. So I chose to paint these two paintings with the background colour last and I found that it gave a more layered effect.
